Swim Team (TIDE) of Hampton Roads has two openings for
experienced
Assistant Age Group Coaches with demonstrated
enthusiasm for inspiring and leading developing swimmers.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-3 years of
coaching experience and will preferably have swum
competitively at the collegiate level. This is an exciting
opportunity to influence a core group of upper elementary
and middle school swimmers as they work to reach their goals
within the program. The Age Group program focuses on the
mastery of aerobic conditioning and interval training while
maintaining proper stroke technique, including underwater

Regency Park Swim Team
(RPST), in Fredericksburg, is seeking
part-time coaches to start in September 2008. RPST is
beginning its 3rd year with Virginia Swimming and
is approximately 110 swimmers strong. RPST has had swimmers
ranging from novice to Junior National level. We are
expanding our staff and are looking for energetic and
committed coaches willing to spend approximately 9 to 15
hours a week on deck coaching. Opportunities for more hours
are available. Coaches will also attend selected meets.
Pay will be commensurate to experience. RPST will cover
the cost for all certifications and mileage reimbursement to

Area Swim Team (CAST), in Abingdon, is looking for
part-time coaches. CAST is beginning its 3rd
year with Virginia Swimming. We are expanding our
coaching staff this fall. We are looking for energetic
and dedicated coaches willing to spend 8 to 19 hours a week
on deck coaching. Coaches will be expected to execute
daily workouts and attend meets with the team.
Candidates should have effective communication skills and
leadership skills. Candidates should be enthusiastic,
exhibit high work standards, and be committed to promoting

QDD Swim Team, Inc.
is a USA Swim Team headquartered in historic Manassas,
approximately 30 miles outside of Washington DC. QDD has
approximately 150 to 180 year-round swimmers as well as a
team owned indoor 25 meter pool facility. We train and
compete at 5 different aquatic facilities. Our competitive
swimmers range from ages 6 and up to our National Training
Group, with swim lessons for approximately 75 swimmers on an
annual basis. QDD is looking for an exciting full-time Head
Coach to lead our team. We are a not-for-profit 501-3C
organization, managed by a volunteer board of directors that
works closely with the team's Head Coach. Candidate should
be a college graduate with a minimum of 5 years coaching
experience in a leadership role with an enthusiastic
approach to the development of swimmers from novice to
National Qualifiers. Responsibilities: The Head Coach is
responsible for the day-to-day direction and hands-on
guidance and involvement in all aspects of the swim
program. This includes the possession of exceptional
communication skills with parents, swimmers, board members
and coaching staff. Coach must be a member in good standing
in USA swimming. Duties include: Swimmer and Team
Development: 1) Determines the breakdown and assignment of
swimmers to training groups, to include assessments and
approval of swimmer advancements. 2) Design and oversee the
implementation of the seasonal training plans for all
groups. 3) Develop and/or ensure workouts are appropriate
for the age group, including dryland training and regular
stroke/technique clinics. 4) Develop long term goals and
swim programs to meet these goals including seasonal and
weekly training programs, work with swimmers to determine
appropriate individual goals. 5) Garner team spirit by
positive attitude and team building, etc. 6) Provide data
for team awards; provide input on team awards. Meets: 1)
Develop season meet schedule (SCY and LCM). 2) Ensure all
swim meets have coverage for all swimmers participating. 3)
Prepare meet entries in accordance with meet calendar and
entry procedure set in place. 4) In the event of a travel
meet, head coach will create the itinerary and select
transportation and lodging as needed. 5) Assist in planning
the team travel budget, as needed. Administration: 1)
Attend all pertinent meetings i.e. monthly board meetings,
parent and coach�s meetings. 2) Complete all required
paperwork in a timely manner (i.e., US swimming paperwork,
attendance, etc.) 3) Assure that all forms are received and
signed in accordance with USA Swimming. 4) Computer
proficiency is needed in Hy-Tek TM; ensure accurate
management of Hy-Tek programs. 5) Maintain current coach�s
credentials as required by USA Swimming. 6) Work with local
city and businesses to ensure consistent swim schedule and
pool/facility availability. 7) Advise board of any issues
concerning schedules, facilities or contracts. 8) Actively
support team fundraising activities. 9) Handle all
discipline with both parents and athletes as described in
the policies. 10) Propose annual items to be considered for
budget, i.e., coaches training, equipment needs, etc...
Professional Development: 1) Maintain current coach's
credentials as required by USA swimming. 2) Continued
education for both Head and Assistant Coaches. 3) Will
conduct him/herself in a professional manner. 4) Ensure
assistant coaching staff is properly qualified. 5)
Participate in the hiring of assistant coaches as required.
6) Develop training plan for all coaches. To include goals,
evaluations, monthly meetings. 7) Ensure assistant coaches
are fulfilling their responsibilities. Recording
attendance, yardage per workout, meets, etc...
Communications: 1) Be the board point of contact for all
issues and provide a report to the board on a monthly
basis. 2) Submit weekly newsletter to team website and
email to team members. 3) Maintain scheduled office hours.
4) Point of contact for all new and current swimmers/parents
re. questions, issues. Preferred Qualifications: 1) ASCA
certification of Level 3 or greater or equivalent proven
experience, education and achievement. 2) At least 5 years
of coaching experience in a leadership role that includes
recruiting, training and supervising staff. 3)
Knowledgeable in HY-TEK Swimming Management Software (Team,
Meet, Business). 4) Knowledgeable in MS Word, Outlook and
Excel. Competitive salary and benefits: Base Salary Range
$60,000 to $75,000 DOE, plus health benefits. We are
